Terms and Conditions

 

Terms and Conditions for JM Gutter Experts


1. Acceptance of Terms

By booking or engaging with any service provided by JM Gutter Experts (referred to as "we," "us," or "our"), the client (referred to as "you" or "the customer") agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.


2. Quotations and Pricing

2.1 Quotation Validity: All quotations provided are estimates based on the information provided by the customer and are valid for a period of 30 days. 

2.2 Final Price: The final price may be subject to change upon arrival and a physical inspection of the property, especially if the scope of work (e.g., exceptional debris, hidden damage, complex access) differs significantly from the initial assessment. Any changes to the price will be communicated to the customer and must be approved before work commences.


3. Scope of Work 

3.1 Standard Cleaning: Our standard gutter cleaning service includes the removal of all loose debris, leaves, moss, and blockages from the internal horizontal runs of the guttering system. 

3.2 Downspouts: We will test and clear any blockages in the downspouts accessible from the roofline. We do not cover the clearing of underground drainage systems unless specifically requested and quoted for.

 3.3 Debris Disposal: All removed debris is bagged and will be left on site for the customer to dispose of, or if agreed upon in the quotation, we will remove it for an additional fee.


4. Access and Safety

4.1 Customer Responsibility: You are responsible for ensuring clear and safe access to the property's exterior, including the guttering system, on the scheduled service date. This includes: * Securing all pets. * Moving vehicles, bins, or other obstacles directly underneath the work area. * Informing us of any known hazards, weak roofing areas, or overhead cables. 

4.2 Unsafe Conditions: If, upon arrival, our technicians deem the working conditions unsafe (e.g., unstable ground for ladders, excessive height risk, aggressive weather), we reserve the right to abort the job. A cancellation fee (see Section 5.3) may apply if the unsafe condition was preventable by the customer.


5. Scheduling, Cancellations, and Delays

5.1 Scheduling: We will provide an estimated date and time window for service. We will endeavor to adhere to this schedule but accept no liability for minor delays due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., traffic, prior job overruns). 

5.2 Weather Delays: All external work is subject to weather conditions. In the event of high winds, heavy rain, lightning, or frost, we reserve the right to postpone the service for safety reasons. You will be notified immediately to reschedule at the earliest convenience. No cancellation fee will apply for weather-related delays initiated by us. 

5.3 Customer Cancellation: If the customer cancels a confirmed booking with less than 24 hours' notice, or if our team is denied safe and clear access upon arrival, a cancellation fee equivalent to the full amount of the quoted price may be charged to cover logistical and lost revenue costs.


6. Liability and Damages

6.1 Pre-existing Damage: We take photographs or notes of the guttering system and roofline before work begins. We accept no liability for damage that is pre-existing, including but not limited to loose roof tiles, worn seals, faded paintwork, or corrosion.

6.2 Waste Water: We are not liable for any minor splash-back or mess caused by the flushing and testing of the gutters and downspouts during the cleaning process. We will always perform a general tidy of the immediate work area.


7. Payment Terms

7.1 Payment Due: Payment is due in full immediately upon completion of the service, unless a prior credit arrangement has been formally agreed upon in writing. 

7.2 Payment Methods: We accept payment via bank transfer and cash. 

7.3 Late Payment: We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue amounts in line with statutory limits.


8. Guarantees

We guarantee that your gutters will be clear of blockages and free-flowing at the time of completion.
